Monash South Africa plans to implement a new diploma

Craig Rowe, head of community engagement at Monash South Africa, addressed students on Wednesday, on the new Diploma under development in order to steer change in the country.
Universities and government have come together to discuss the issue of numerous amounts of community development practitioners in the field, without qualification or standardisation that can be recognised. Most of these practitioners excel in their field, but cannot be acknowledged due to their qualification being unrecognised, and the lack of resources and lack of development approach. Rowe informs students on this diploma, and how it will benefit the nation.

Monash is a private university, but engages with factors in the community, along with the government. Students at Monash are all currently studying for degrees in their field of choice. Robin Jones, a student at Monash, finds the implementation of a diploma at the university to be one that is of the best interest to people in the community, considering how the government trends to neglect these factors.

Monash plans on implementing the diploma courses in 2017.

Ex golf champion impacts community

Jeffery Hawkes, one of South Africa’s professional golfers, informed Monash students about his plans and implementations that he chooses to use, in order to better people’s lifestyles through the use of technology.
After traveling the world, and meeting numerous amounts of high profile people, Hawkes couldn’t play golf, due to shoulder injury. He then moved on to find a different means of using up his time instead of being on the field.

With his new interest and wanting to stand out, Hawkes provides students with ways in which he will go about implementing the use of energy that will provide the changes and lifestyle, of the people in the community.

Although Hawkes states that he may not be around to see all the changes he wants to be implemented, he will continue focusing his time on energy changes to better the country, for the next few years.
